So Trey has been doing well.  No real problems to report.  We have our good days and bad days but mostly good unless you count his eating.  Then it’s mostly bad.  It’s real hard to get him to eat on most days but some he does well.  He has TWO loose teeth!! Though he cries every time we bring it to his attention.  “I don’t wanna lose my teeth!” It’s a hysterical melt-down every time! We just can’t seem to make him understand that this is a good thing! LOL.

On the other hand of things, I, along with two close family friends Nichole Bryant and Chris Solomon have been working SUPER hard on getting this non-profit organization up and running!! It’s a lot of work.  I lot of stress and sometimes I think my brain is just going to shut down….but it will all be worth it once we get going in a good pace!

Chris is helping with some marketing things and asking really hard questions of me.  Stuff that I would have never thought of had he not brought them up…so I am truly thankful for him volunteering to help out! We have the paperwork in hand to receive our business license and registration as a charitable organization along with all of the information to get our 501 c 3 status.  Just a matter of filling it out and sending in the registration costs! I am so excited for this!!

I thank you all for your continued support, thoughts, and prayers for our family!  Please send everyone you know to our Facebook page and tell them to hit like! We have to prove that we can reach people in order to get sponsors to even take the time to listen!! https://www.facebook.com/All4Trey

Love to all and GOD BLESS!!!!

Well, we are finally home! Trey was so happy to be home.  He is currently sitting on the couch with his daddy playing video games after having a hearty lunch made up of Sausage, Egg, and cheese bites from Teays Valley Biscuit.  The only other thing he was looking forward to besides going home.

He asked last night “mommy, whats the name of that place where we get biscuits, not Tudor’s but the other place…the one by Uncle Steve’s old house. With the bread nuggets that you dip in gravy?” He’s so smart and he remembers EVERYTHING.  So on the way home we stopped and he ate quite a few of them…..it’s a start!

I thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers and again I ask you all to Pray for our friend Mindy and her family. They are going through a difficult time right now….please pray for strength, understanding, and comfort for the coming weeks…and beyond.  We love you Mindy and thank you for all you have done for us!

Love to all and GOD BLESS!!!!

Today was a good day! We got April Fools pranked by the Dr….but still it was a good day! Trey got his “pass” to go home and watch Wrestlemania.  He had so much fun. It was heart warming to watch him yelling at the T.V. and getting into it with the OOOh’s and the HOLY CRAP’s…it was too funny.  He finally ate a PB&J at home and a small bag of cheetos and kept it down.

Once we got back to the hospital it wasn’t long before he was knocked out. Though he is doing better, he is still not feeling 100%.  He laid down in his bed and said “mommy, I’m going to rest my eyes for a minute” and he was GONE. The sleep is doing him good.  Hopefully in a couple of days, he will get some strength built back up and feel better.

So the good news is that his blood cultures are still negative for anything and he hasn’t had anymore fever since 4am yesterday so the Dr. says that as long as we make to the 48 hour mark with no fever we could go home in the morning.  Super excited about that! I’ll keep ya posted!

Love to all and GOD BLESS!!!!

So once again I have let a HUGE lapse in time go by without updating….tsk tsk tsk….Shame on mom! I’m horrible about this stuff.  I never was able to keep a diary even because I always forgot to write.  So Trey has been doing pretty good other than the 13 day stint we had in the hospital in February with an infection in his port. Fortunately we got that cleared up and things have been going well.  Until yesterday.

Trey was looking pretty pale and having some pretty bad belly pain and staying cold, though he had no fever.  So we called the Dr. to see what we should do. Dr. Osuaji suggested that we come and check his labs to see if he needed some blood and as soon as we opened the door to the infusion center well…he threw up in the hallway.  This was the first time he had gotten sick, though he hadn’t eatin in 3 days.  They checked his temperature and sure enough 101.6!! There was no discussion about it….he was being admitted.  So far he has been ok…some minor nausea and vomiting, but he has been almost 24 hours with no fever!! YAY!!  This morning his blood pressure dropped kind of low, so low that Dr. Osuaji was concerned enough that if he didn’t stabilize then she was going to move him to the Pediatric ICU.  So far he has been fine though.

Everytime he has eatin he has gotten sick.  We just had to have another dose of phenergan due to some breakthrough vomiting even after his Kytril.  His blood cultures have all come back negative so far so that is a good thing.  They did an ultrasound today looking for panreatitis or appendicitis but his pancreas was normal and they couldn’t see his appendix so now it is just a waiting game to see what test they order next.

We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the thoughts and prayers that you send! They are truly appreciated and we are eternally grateful! He has had a few visitors which has lifted his spirits a bit while they are here.  I want to say thank you to all that have come to visit and made my baby forget if even for a moment that he is stuck in the hospital.  I will do my best to update more tomorrow once we find out what is next.

Love to all and GOD BLESS!!!!

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,500 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 42 trips to carry that many people.

Today was a pretty good day.  Trey slept in this morning but once he woke up he had some cereal.  Mom brought him some spicy chicken nuggets from Wendy’s and you could tell that he really wanted to eat them, but just couldn’t bring himself to do it.  His Chemo was finished around 530pm this evening and when they checked his levels in his system it was much lower than they expected it to be. Which is a wonderful thing.  His potassium dropped a little so they added some potassium to the fluids he is now getting and that should resolve.  They are still checking his urine every single time he pees…which is a lot! But they are looking good too, the numbers have been perfect every time.  They will draw more labs at 1140am to see where they are at. They want him by that time to be at below 10 I think at that time. We’ll see how it goes.

He had fun this evening Zac stopped by on his way home from College and one of his friends came with him.  They kind of played with him as much as he can play being hooked up to the IV.  They danced a little and laughed a lot but he had fun.  He is sleeping soundly and hopefully will through the night.

I will update more tomorrow once we find out his lab results.

Well, we had a good weekend other than taking Harley to Med Express and finding out he had Acute Tonsillitis.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep two brothers apart when all they want to do is play together? And when I say apart, I mean like totally secluded from each other.  Harley laying on our bed and Trey standing at the bedroom door talking to him because he can’t go into the room….It was pitiful.  He just kept saying, “I’m sorry you’re sick Harley. Get better soon so when I get home from the Dr. we can play wrestling ok?” It really was so sweet.

I know I have mentioned on several occasions how much I love Trey’s Dr. but have I ever mentioned how much I HATE this hospital? We got here at approximately 830am this morning, had labs done and had to wait on those to see if he would be admitted today or not.  They had a room ready for him at 800am.  We finally go the labs back and into a room at 1200pm this afternoon!! REALLY!!?? Then we had to wait for the Pharmacy to bring up the medications and fluids that he has to have in order to start his Chemo.  He has to have the fluids for at least three hours before they can start the Chemo…It took two hours for them to get here. It’s ridiculous! The nursing staff however, is wonderful!!

So they finally got to start his Chemo at around 530pm. So it will continue to run until 530pm tomorrow at which time they will begin checking chemo levels in his system and giving him medication to keep the Chemo from messing up his Kidneys.  Hopefully we will get to go home Wednesday evening.  Maybe not until Thursday morning.

He is finally resting now, sleeping well.  He was trying really hard to stay awake to watch Hawaii Five-0, he is a big fan ever since he decided that his “Make-A-Wish” was a trip to Hawaii.  I’ll update more tomorrow once his Chemo is done and we get the first set of labs back.

Love to all and God Bless!!!!

So home from the hospital … Good news…Trey does not need blood.  His Hemoglobin came up from 6.1 to 8.5!! He is doing well, even has better color to him. We still have to recheck his levels on Monday morning before they actually admit him.  If all is well he will be admitted and start more Chemo.

My washer went out this morning, but dad to the rescue, the man who can fix anything has kept his streak alive….so far anyway. We are testing it right now to make sure that it is working properly. THANK GOD FOR DADDYS!!!

I have a blazing headache, so I’m gonna keep this post short.  Thanks to all of you who have already placed an order through Pampered Chef, it is much appreciated!! Keep sharing and hopefully we can get some more orders in!

I will update more when I get some more information…

WOW!! That’s a big date jump! I am so sorry that I have not posted in so long. But to be perfectly honest…I totally forget about this thing sometimes. Then when I think about it I think to myself “OH CRAP! I need to update that” and then well….other things happen and I don’t get to it…so let me fill you in….

We made it through the Rotavirus fine. Trey was feeling better, then Harley got a high fever. He spiked at 103.8 we had him in our bedroom separated from Trey for 4 days with cold rags on him until his fever finally broke. But everyday Trey was at our bedroom door checking on his bubby. He was worried about him and missed his play friend. We have had a lot going on with court too with Trey’s older brother and sister that live out-of-state. It’s been hectic.
Trey started on October 24th a series of 8 weeks of inpatient Chemotherapy and Spinal Taps. He was in the hospital for 4 days. The Chemo fortunately did not make him very ill, but did make him VERY tired, with a couple of mouth sores and he had literally no appetite. He went almost 6 days without eating anything. You know it’s bad when Auntie Ange, the dietician, says “YAY” over him eating a McDonald’s apple pie and chocolate milkshake for breakfast. He slowly started eating again, he ate Subway tuna sandwiches with pickles and mayo for 4 or 5 days straight. He got to come home just in time to go Trick or Treating at Auntie Ange’s house and we made it to around 15 houses before he was done and couldn’t go any longer. Just as his appetite got going really good, it was November 7th and time for another admission and another round of Chemo, no spinal tap this time though thankfully. We once again stayed for 4 days and though his appetite was still pretty nil, he did eat a little this time. And without the spinal tap, the mouth sores were a no-show! He slowly started progressing with his appetite and started playing quite a bit with Harley, he was looking like he was feeling really good. Right about that time, it was time to check his blood work for the next round when we realized that he would be in the hospital having Chemo on Thanksgiving day. THANK GOD for Dr. Chauvenet!! He and Dr. Palmer (his partner in his practice) are truly wonderful people and have hearts and care about their patient’s wishes. When they realized this and found out that his older brother and sister were coming to spend their very first Thanksgiving with us, they made the decision to admit him on Friday instead of Monday so that he may be home in time for Thanksgiving. So on November 18th we were admitted for another round of Chemo and yet another spinal tap. He did so well with it this time though that we got to go home after only 2 and a half days! The Chemo still made him VERY tired, but he ate a little better and his spirits stayed high. We made it home in time to watch WWE Survivor Series which he was SUPER STOKED about. It was heartwarming and emotional for me to see him cuddled up with his Daddy watching wrestling. Marshall kind of looked like Santa with Trey on one leg and Harley on the other both laying on his chest watching TV together. It was a Kodak moment for sure.
He and Harley had a lot of fun with Alex and Abby and were very upset that they had to go back to Columbus, but they are excited for them to come back for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, let me tell you guys, Marshall has brainwashed my kids…..Trey and Harley are adamant about the fact that we not only have to leave Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chocolate Milk for Santa, but we also have to leave him a fried bologna sandwich with HOT SAUCE AND RANCH on it with flaming hot Cheetos on the side. We also have to leave oatmeal, salad (with cheese), Doritos and white milk for the Reindeer!! OMG! that’s all I can say.
We went Monday for lab work and his Hemoglobin was a little low, since he was still playing good and since he wasn’t looking or acting extremely tired Dr. Chauvenet decided to wait until Thursday and recheck his levels, so tomorrow we go for more lab work. Depending on the results, he may have to have a unit of blood. He will be admitted on Monday for the final stage of this round of Chemo….week 8!! We got our Christmas tree put up this past weekend so at least he will have that to come home to. He loves the Christmas tree. He and Harley and Alex helped decorate it, Abby was busy watching Spongebob, so all of my ornaments are in one of three places depending on who put them on and how high they could reach…lol. All of Harley’s are on one of 4 branches, when I say all, I mean like 14 ornaments in a 12″ square … too funny. But they love it and that is all that matters. I’m trying to contain my OCD and not “fix” it….I am going to try like crazy to update this thing more often now that I have you all up to speed. I apologize again for taking so long.

Please keep us in your prayers and remember to squeeze your little ones a little tighter every night.
Also, check out the Pampered Chef fund raiser…they make GREAT Christmas presents!!

So….turns out Trey has Rotavirus:

Rotavirus is the major cause of diarrhea and vomiting in young children worldwide. The infection is highly contagious and may lead to severe dehydration.

We had to stay one extra night so he could get more fluids, but the doctor says we should get to go home today if he is drinking sufficiently. We are waiting on the doctor to come in right now and Trey has been drinking pretty well, I don’t know if I would call if sufficient, but well.  He has drank half of a large tea from McDonald’s and about a quarter of a bottle of water.  More than he usually does when he feels bad.  He ate 3/4 of a cheeseburger last night, but that and a very small amount of cereal yesterday morning is all he has had since Saturday evening.

He says his belly hurts. Anyone who has had this stomach bug before knows what he is talking about though.  Your stomach just hurts, not hungry, not like throwing up, not even pooping pains…..its just a “hurt”.

I hate that he feels like this.  As if he isn’t going through enough with Chemo now he has this! We also have to be extra careful about disinfecting at home now. Marshall is getting sick too! So hopefully it skips me and Harley! UGH!

Trey and I finally got a little bit of sleep last night.  He wanted me to sleep next to him, it was so cute, he scooted his little body over as far as he could and said “Here mommy, you can sleep in the big bed with me.” So we started out side by side and somewhere in the middle of the night, he curled up next to me, and then ended up with his head and chest laying across my stomach.  I felt special, he even kicked his bear and dragon out of bed!! LOL

Now I’m trying to get him to eat something so we can go home and he says “I don’t want to go home! I want to stay here! I like the beds and stuff here.” I guess now I need to get him one of those craftmatic beds!!!

Well, that is the update for now.  I’ll let you know if we stay or go home!
